I was honored to be chosen to photograph these darling holiday outfits from Smocked Auctions for the Southern Living blog, and having the shoot in the Penthouse of the W Residences in Dallas was an added bonus!  I had the pleasure of meeting Kimberly Schlegel-Whitman, Editor-at-Large for Southern Living at the shoot – she’s as gorgeous in person as she is in pictures, and not afraid to get a little silly to help me capture the attention of our adorable models!  I would love it if you’d stop by and give some love on the Smocked Auctions feature on the Southern Living blog – here’s a link:

And here are more of the images from that morning (including some outtakes) – love these kiddos!

I was so honored to meet this family – it was so important to Dad to have family portraits done, that he arranged the entire session all the way from Afghanistan!  I realized after I put together their blog collage, that I chose all the candid moments – but that is what makes these types of sessions special, and those are the images that speak to me the most!  Sure, I love to get that gorgeous family portrait with everyone smiling for the camera – but I ADORE getting these moments where you can see the relationships within this family – those are memories they can now look back on and smile!

When I came up with the concept for Ballerina Portraits more than two years ago – I had no idea how well it would be received, and how much fun it would be to have these sweet girls come back year after year for these precious dance portraits!  We did our preliminary launch of this year’s events by offering spots to the dancers from Dance Techniques, owned by my favorite dance teacher, Ms. Tiffany Edwards – and we already have several slots taken, several are little girls from past year – I can’t wait to see how they’ve grown!  Ms. Tiffany will be hosting this event with me for it’s third year – making sure every pose is dance-perfection!  We decided to change things up this year with a new background – it’s a vintage rose background – very sweet, and PERFECT for those sweet pink leotards your little dancer wears to dance class each week.  Don’t forget to bring her tights, her dance bag, and her ballet shoes!  Ms. Tiffany will bring some ballet shoes as well, if you don’t have any, or prefer pink to your black, etc.  It’s a really fun event, and I hope you’ll join us!

To schedule – CLICK HERE

WHAT:  10-minute quickie session with 5-7 proofs on a cute vintage rose background – includes posing by Ms. Tiffany of Dance Techniques

Sweet Sadie is one of my baby planners – I’ve been lucky enough to photograph her as a newborn, a 3 month old, and now at 7 months.  She’s as cute as can be, and luckily came prepared with plenty of smiles to share (and some adorable outfits to boot!).  You might recognize her, if you’ve been driving on I-30 heading West toward Rockwall, recently – she’s showing off one of these outfits on a billboard for Peek-A-Boo Avenue, Rockwall’s newest children’s boutique, located behind Sabrina’s Flowers in the Ridge Pointe Athletic building.
