Kylei’s mom scheduled her session a few weeks in advance, and she called later to tell me that she’d broken her arm!  Poor little thing!  I suggested that maybe we could continue, and show off that cast for a few of the shots, and minimize it in others – so that’s what we did!  Kylei picked out her own clothes for the session, and I just knew I had to pair her outfit with my glamourous silver background.  We did several close-ups, and these were my favorites…

Jennifer B - Gorgeous captures! She looks so comfortable in front of the camera! I love that you got some of her cast – these photos will help tell the story of what her life was like at this age! Beautiful work!ReplyCancel

Robbie - Such a pretty girl! You did a great job both showing off the cast and minimizing it!ReplyCancel

I’ve known this family for more than a year now, and couldn’t wait to get them in front of the camera – they are one of the best looking families – all the kids look alike, but are all gorgeous in their own individual ways as well.  Daughter #2 goes to school with my youngest, and it was really neat to see her interacting with her brothers and sister!

Doing maternity portraits, especially when both parents take part, is really special to me.  I like to be able to show off that belly – but there’s something much more important I like to highlight, and that is the relationship between the Mommy and Daddy-to-be – and their anticipation and love for their upcoming addition.  Doing this in the studio allows me the chance to use some dramatic lighting (flattering for EVERYone) to really highlight the mood, and show the beauty of Mom…  Love these portraits!

I didn’t have a sister growing up – so I’m constantly telling my daughters how lucky they are to have a sister!  To tell you the truth – I wonder how they’ll get along when they’re older – one moment they are fighting like cats and dogs, and the next they are declaring each other “Best Sisters Forever!!!”.  Either way – I’m still a little jealous (no offense to my brother!)…  These sweet sisters came in to see me in May (yep – still behind on blogging) for one of my ‘Sugar Shots’ sessions – big sister was so so sweet to her baby sister – so fun to capture them together, and also get some of them separately to really show off their personalities…  I have to admit – one of my favorites is that last one of big sister jumping in the air – so fun and carefree!

Although these are really cute in color – I don’t show off a lot of black and white here on the blog, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to show these that way – somehow being black and white makes them even more classic, don’t you think?

I can hardly believe that it’s nearly time for the kids to go back to school!  It’s a tradition for me to take pictures of my kids that first day of school – I usually just pull the kids into the driveway for a few, and then take the camera with me to get a few in their classroom…  Last year I had my studio set up at my house, and thought I’d take a few shots in the studio as well (a week or two before school started) – and I love going back and looking at those!  It’s fun to see how much they’ve grown!  My oldest is going to be in First Grade this year – I’m sort of in denial about it…  Anyway – now that my studio has moved into a retail space, it’s much easier for me to hold events and mini-sessions – so I’ve decided to offer some Back to School ‘Quickie’ Sessions!  These will be fast and painless, and best of all – affordable!  Don’t get me wrong – I love the school pictures we get every year – but this is a chance to get a little something extra that allows your child’s personality to shine through!  Best of all – these aren’t just for kids in kindergarten and up – we are more than happy to photograph kids getting ready to start MDO, preschool, pre-K, or even daycare!

This event will be held Saturday, August 18th with times available from 10am to 4pm.  Sessions are for one child only – if you have more than one child – schedule a session for each, and we should have time to grab a shot or two of them together!  In order to schedule – click here, pick your time, and pay a deposit of $20.  These sessions don’t have any session fee – the $20 will be applied to your account as a credit, and put toward whatever you choose to order online.  Prints begin at $22, and packages begin at $59.
