I was so honored to have been chosen to photograph this special family.  Although they are already parents to beautiful twin girls, who came to them through adoption, they came to see me, to celebrate their pregnancy, and were eagerly anticipating the arrival of their third child!  I had so many shots from this session that I loved – it was hard to narrow down – so I’m sharing a LOT…  I am LOVING the colors they chose for their portraits – this shows you great examples of both color, and also keeping things neutral.  Enjoy!

I photographed Pearl’s big sis two years ago when she was two – it was so special to be able to see her at age four, now as a big sister to two-month old Pearl.  It was also bittersweet, as one of the last studio sessions in my home studio, before I moved everything to the new studio, Sugar Shots Portrait Boutique.  There were so many cute shots from their session – so I’m over-sharing this time – hope you don’t mind!

Yep – you read that correctly!  This year I’ve been slyly fitting in a few weddings – contemplating making them a permanent offering…  They are lots of work – but they are joyful work, and so rewarding to be able to be there on such a special day, and capture some of those moments that no one else saw…  I may be hooked…  My favorite part is capturing the couple alone, celebrating their romance and love, and letting them have a little fun after the ceremony is over!  Here is an album I put together for Shawne and Anthony – I know the title up there says Rockwall wedding photographer – but actually, I shot these in the downtown McKinney square – so many cute spots!

A HUGE Thank You goes out to my good friend Sarah of Berry Tree Photography (based in Atlanta) who was in town and graciously shot this with me – she is one of the most talented wedding photographers I know – and I was honored to learn from her, and shoot alongside her!

Newborn sessions continue to be one of the most satisfying things I do as a photographer.  So much goes into them – it’s the hardest thing I do – but also the most rewarding.  When you get ‘the shot’ – NOTHING is better.  I am so grateful to my clients, who are often coming over before they’ve healed themselves, so we can get these portraits in during the optimal timeframe (7-10 days old).  It truly is a joint effort, and so so worth it – especially in Evie’s case!

Prateek - – Very, very cute!! Almost makes me want to have another. You do such a great job of potohgraphing newborns, these are so simple and leave all the focus on the baby. I love them all! Amazing work!December 1, 2011 7:59 amReplyCancel

I was surprised when Liam’s Mom called to tell me it was time for his first birthday session – the time just flies by – I could hardly believe that little Liam was already nearly 1!  I have photographed him from the time he was in his Mom’s belly – and now he’s an active toddler!  Here’s a sampling of images from his sessions, followed by some from just this one…  <3
